Shoppers Drug Mart Makes Gift Giving Easy

Shoppers Drug Mart wanted to further expand their digital presence this year by helping consumers find the right gifts online. The goal of the digital marketing program was to make Shoppers Drug Mart top of mind when considering a “gift giving” destination for Canadians this holiday season.

Trapeze leveraged Shopper’s Drug Mart’s strength in the beauty category, while showcasing notable products across a broader range of categories.

Trapeze produced a new Gifts Made Easy section for the Shoppers Drug Mart site. The unique online experience offers a variety of ways users can find fitting gift ideas for both family and friends. Users can either search through an online catalogue by traditional product search, or browse through gender, budget or interests, or use the Easy Gift Finder tool.

The Easy Gift Finder tool uses the power and innovation of Facebook Connect as a gift finder application. The novelty behind the platform is that it allows for users to "connect" to their Facebook identity to integrate directly with the site. From there, they tap into a list of friends to find the right gift ideas, based on the profile information of their friends social graph.

The strategy behind Trapeze's approach was to use publicly available information and data from Facebook profiles to deliver relevant gift ideas.
